Terms of sale

Draft — under review. I'm having these checked; until then they describe how I already work.

These are the terms for anything you buy from me through this site, by email or at the house. They're short because the way I work is simple.

Who you're buying from

Johan's Audio is me, Johan, selling used hi-fi from home. You can reach me at sales@johansaudio.co.za or +27 82 650 9253.

What's described is what you get

Every piece is cleaned, tested on my own system and played for at least a week before I list it. The grade and the description say how I found it, faults included. If something in a listing turns out to be wrong, tell me and we'll put it right — that's what the warranty and returns below are for.

Prices

Prices are in rand and are the price of the piece on the day you order. Prices are final — I'm not registered for VAT. Delivery is shown separately before you place the order.

Placing an order and paying

Placing an order on the site takes the pieces off sale for you. Nothing is charged on the site and no card details are taken. You choose how you'll pay when you order: by EFT, or by card on my card machine when you collect.

For EFT, the email confirming your order has my bank details and a payment reference, which is your order reference. Use exactly that reference so I can match your payment. I'll hold your order for 48 hours while payment comes through; after that it lapses and everything in it goes back on sale.

Paying by card is for collection only. I hold the order until you come for it; if your plans change, let me know and I'll put it back on sale.

Delivery and collection

Delivery is R395 anywhere in South Africa, and free on orders of R10 000 or more. Everything is packed and couriered, insured.

Or collect from the house, have a listen on my system first and take it away the same day. Collection is free and by arrangement.

Warranty

Twelve-month warranty, parts and labour, on everything sold, whatever the grade. If a piece develops a fault within those twelve months, I fix it or refund it.

Returns

Seven days to change your mind, return shipping at my cost. If it doesn't suit your room, email me within seven days of receiving it; I arrange the return and refund you in full once it's back.

Trade-ins

Trade-ins are arranged through the contact form. I give you a figure off a particular piece, and I test what you bring before we settle. If it isn't as you described, we agree a new figure or I post it back free.

Your rights

Nothing here takes away the rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act. My privacy notice explains what I do with your details.
